Hmmmm. The whole Random wordplay thing has really gone downhill since I adopted it.
2010 has been a year marked by new ideas and creative thinking for the ItsJustSomeRandomGuy YouTube channel. From an in-continuity buddy cop parody to a full-on double rainbow musical masterpiece to a Twilight/True Blood spoof, and even faking Gobby's own suicide, RandomGuy and Gal have been pushing the outer limits of the ever-expanding RandomVerse, all the while maintaining their comic perfection.
Last week, another one of these Voyager-esque missions was launched. This time, the Randoms attacked the YouTube community with an eight-video interactive game. Eight videos! Watch the video in the player above, click a link on the screen at the end to watch a nominee, and be on your way to picking your winner!
Out of the nominee videos and winner videos, I think my favorites were both Dexter videos. Admittedly, I've only seen one episode of Dexter, but I felt that the nominee video completely captured its spirit and tone. The fact that Deadpool was on the table was pleasantly appropriate sight. I also enjoyed how they made the "You don't die, do you?" "Nope." "Hurm." exchange a running joke. As for the Dexter winner video, I thought that it was the funniest of the eight videos, thanks to Rorschach's line at the end. All in all, tying Dexter to "Rorschach and Deadpool" worked perfectly for both videos.
As promised this past Tuesday, the Randoms posted a new video on YouTube yesterday! Given the time frame, many RandomFans guessed that it would be related to the San Diego Comic Con, and I guess they were right!
Fellow RandomFan BSfan summed it up the best:
Song + Deadpool + under 3 minutes = instant iTunes hit
Don't you agree?

Also, in case you're unobservant, randomfans.com is back up after a 3+ day hiatus! I don't fully understand the whole situation, but apparently the reason behind it was that the hosting was inadvertently neglected. The account is DrPlexi's, so I had no control of the situation.
To avoid future similar occurrences, I'm looking into ways to take on more responsibility for this web site. But I will need your help. Please stay tuned!
From the very beginning of the ItsJustSomeRandomGuy channel on YouTube, the RandomVerse has been continually expanding. The Randoms' tendency to try new things and explore new ideas is both heavily documented in previous ItsJustSomeRandomFanSite blogs as well as easily apparent in their first 101 videos. Adding new characters, starting new spin-off series, and dreaming up new types of parodies has simply been an integral part of the journey that started more than three years ago.
Enter RandomVid #102. My March 6, 2010 article on ItsJustSomeRandomGuy's age put a spotlight on the RandomVerse's several and frequent game changers. "Hi, I'm TWILIGHT and I'm TRUE BLOOD" definitely goes on the list.
I wasn't the first to post this video on this fan site; ExiaBlade was. Below is his review, as well as the video, originally posted here in the RandomForum.
It sucks that I haven't been attending the weekly get-togethers, but I can't really do anything about it right now. But at least I can be involved by doing this.
I loved this vid! Not just for being funny, but one of their most creative vids, which is saying something considering how creative they are. It's hard to decide which skit was the funniest, though the vharmony one might be my favorite. And of course, gotta give it up for Randomgal taking center stage as the respective love interests. Oh and give it up for the game show host, "Gee, I hope no one curses me with immortal SEXINESS!!!"
All in all, brilliant, and I love the variety they've been giving us with more and more of thse vids. Nothing can stop this random train!
On a last note, I know that some RandomFans may feel a bit uneasy trying to get used to this non-Marvel/DC fare. In the ground-breaking dawn of a new era, remember a few things: 1) The Marvel/DC parody is by no means in its twilight! 2) This new moonlighting practice could lead us to more and more exciting franchises never before parodied! 3) The fact that this video features a crappy book series adaptation is eclipsed by its hilarity! 4) From its inception, the RandomVerse has been described by this fan site as: "where the fans, videos, and worlds of ItsJustSomeRandomGuy and Gal collide." The glove still fits. Make mine Random!
