DC Universe: My new addiction

Created On: 11/22/2011 14:56:35
Hey randomverse! If you enjoy reading my random games section, then you probably read about DC Universe Online going free to play. It wasn't long after that that I found out it was free to download as well. So I did. And.. it.. ROCKS!!! I didn't think I'd like any MMO as much as WoW, and I've tried a few already. I haven't played any other Superhero MMO's, but I can't say I really care. Customization is a priority in this game, so when it comes to giving your hero a unique look, you never have to worry about losing it due to gear upgrades. I could go into details about the "style" system, but that would take too long. The customizable powers, fighting styles, and transport modes also add to the feel of the game, making it the most unique experience I've had in a long time. The initial free-2-play allows you to create 2 characters. Though there is no physical limit beyond that, you can only create more characters, raise your money limit, trade items and access the auction house if you pay $5. The good news; it's ONE TIME. The bad news; It still limits your cash unless you become a monthly member, but since I've yet to find anything like professions or anything that would require alot of money, I find that inconsequential. There's also a ton of other packages you can buy (if you want) to add your experience, like the Green Lantern package that let's you make a Lantern Corps character. There I go, off on a rant again! Anyway, if u have nothing better to do and you wanna have some fun, head over to the main website and DL this game! It's a blast and a half!

Kamen Rider O's Epic Finale!

Created On: 08/28/2011 16:40:28
I thought Kamen Rider W was the most awesome finale ever, til I saw this one. Lemmie break it down...

Eiji was a happy-go-lucky vagabond, but in truth he was in suffering after the death of an entire village he wasn't able to stop in Africa.
Ankh was a Greeed that betrayed the other Greed and gave Eiji the power of O's, the power Eiji desired to protect people, but only for his own selfish desires.
Dr. Maki was a brilliant scientist driven mad by his obsession with death and destruction, to the point he became a Greeed of destruction rather than desire.
Eiji pushed himself too far, and became a Greeed as well, but one that would sacrifice himself to save all of mankind.
Ankh betrayed Eiji once he recieved all of his medals, but upon realizing his true desire, decided his last moments should be helping the only man whoever treated him like he was a living being. The final battle is upon us, two god-like forces collide with the fate of humanity in the balance... again.
Enough jibberjabber, watch the darn ep!!!

Don't call it a comeback...

Created On: 08/21/2011 15:02:46
Don't call it a comeback, I've been here for years. Well, maybe not. Dealing with marriage issues and with something as precious as a baby boy. On a side note, here's a link to my facebook page, filled with pics of my little guy. My facebook page
His name's Caleb, he's currently 10 months. Anyway, back to my comeback. Well, I missed you guys, so I want to try and do the things I used to, with a few changes of course. I am going to resurrect my game reporting section, call it something like itsjustsomerandomgaming or the random game report. i dunno. And I got just the thing to start it off with.
I'll still be reporting on the superheroes of the east, but I'm going to contain it to a thread call Superhero Time, like the sunday morning program block in which they are shown.
It won't be as often as before, and I won't be returning to the blog chats for now, my job is graveyard shift, but hopefully I'll be able to see you guys soon, my randomhomies! Keep it random!

My official Transformers: War for Cybertron review

Created On: 06/21/2010 03:30:57

I hope you enjoyed that opening to one of my first ever online reviews. I've been following this game since it's inception, watching every reveal trailer with baited anticipation, and at Best Buy last week, I spent a good hour playing the demo. That's right, an hour, and I didn't even finish, the store had to close. And I'll tell you why.

Fans have not just been waiting a few years for a good TF, they've been waiting for practically 3 decades, and High Moon promised us just that. And I believe they have succeeded.
In the past, there have only been a few Transformers games all in a third person style. A game simply called Transformers was based on Transformers Armada (Micro-Robo Densetsu for those of you keeping track) but aside from the utilization of Minicons, the game was pretty vanilla, and the transforming concept was hardly ever as useful as it should have been, movements were usually awkward and only useful for jumping gorges.
After that came Transformers the movie video game, which borrowed elements from Grand Theft Auto, but still nothing really saved the game from it's gawdy controls and lack of depth. I haven't had a chance to play Revenge of the Fallen, although I imagine it may not be too different, but I'll lay off on that til I get a chance to play it. In the end, there was nothing for the gaming community as far as the Transformers franchise was concerned. Until now.
Using inspiration from G1 and setting itself away from any current franchise, WfC plays like the real third person shooter we've been waiting for. The limited ammuntion and reload requirements of those games gives this title a more realisitic feel, and the multiple weapons that always comes with such titles are a welcomed change from the weapons you're basically stuck with in the other games. But the creators didn't stop there. Besides the primary and secondary weapons you'll come baring against your enemies, you're vehicle mode will bring a third weapon with it's own unique properties to the fight. The game encourages transformations with this and it's better control scheme. Being alien vehicles, you don't have to spend your time going in reverse and turning your wheel, they move practically as if you were in robot mode, and can boost, still giving it unique functions in certain situations, or fly if you're a jet.
Is that all? Nope. Characters also come with 2 unique abilities to the battlefield. Everything from shields to shockwave disruptors, giving the game an even deeper feel than just the vast array of weapons at your disposal. Am I done yet? No.
Multiplayer allows you to craft your own transformer to your own play style. 4 unique classes (Leader, Soldier, Scientist, Scout) allows you to play whatever style you like. The strong and brutish soldier, or the fast and stealthy Scout, it's up to you. You can literally choose a side, and blow your enemies away.
Now is there a story in all this? Yes, but I'll keep this spoiler proof. Optimus is not yet Prime, and Megatron has risen to power. The story is a prequel, but not one hardcore fans are familiar. Making a story differen than what was written by Simon Furman (the godfather of Transformers) might seem a bit insulting to some, but it allows High Moon the creative freedom they need to deliver the game we crave. And in this Botfan's personal opinion, I believe they have.

Check out the game comeing to all systems June 22, and get ready for 2 new characters, not mentioned on the website! Keep it real, gamers!

Dude, you got some sweet presents there, man. All the clothes I got were boring, stylish shirts from the Gap. They make me look quite spiffy, but they're no superhero-themed underwear!

re: your latest blog... aren't doves a symbol of hope and peace? and isn't that idea from the story of Noah? interesting note: Noah initially sent a raven, but no one remembers that.
