Referring to the cliched use of the word Rise in Batman's film - Hulk: "This somehow seem different to you?" Batman: "I don't know. Does Bruce Banner seem different to you?" Hulk: "Shut Up!" greenfan2013's favorite RandomQuote! |

"I think The Avengers is better than The Dark Knight."

That's the words on the lips of people coming out of theaters right after seeing "The Avengers", not giving themselves a chance to get off the high of an amazing film. I don't know how well ANYONE of us can trust our initial opinions after a momentous event. This was my boyfriend's opinion after first seeing "Spider-man 3": "It was awesome!" He said that. Like he really said that. [Disclaimer: we were just friends at the time; no way was I associated with a guy who thought Gwen Stacy as an extra in a film was a good idea.]
Anywho, we can't trust our opinions when something just happens. We're all loopy with adrenaline and expectactions being met or exceeded. We say things we don't mean when something we've longed desired happens, even if it isn't good.
The only reason I'm saying this is Wait people! Wait 'til the high passes and you can think straight and you aren't out of your mind happy that every character in that film got equal play and say and shined so brilliantly without overshadowing each other. Wait until you can stop laughing out loud at everything Hulk did. Wait until you can't remember every punch thrown throughout each action scene. Then you will be able to say with conviction, "The Avengers was better than The Dark Knight."
My opinion: Two different films, and not just in tone or content, but in accomplishments. My nerves were high for "The Avengers" because I didn't think Hollywood was ready to tackle the Superhero Team. We saw the horrible job they did with Fantastic Four and the never-quite-there job they're currently doing with X-Men, so I was honestly scared going into the movie theater. And I'm sure others could agree with me that we thought Iron Man would steal the show: it's what Tony does.
But... not only was it well executed, it was an all around good movie, great dialogue, excellent acting, Mark Ruffalo was actually awesome, good movie. Dark Knight wasn't tackling a team nor was it going up against our expectations that it would be a sucky movie. We expected beauty. It met it. Also, Dark Knight is, well, dark. The Avengers is quirky, funny, action-y, no Joker-y movie. Two. Different. Films.
So this is my point: if you liked The Avengers more, that's totally cool. Happy for you. But make sure it's pure. And, if we're really going to compare movies, let's wait for a Justice League film vs. the Avengers. And you guys, it's going to happen.
But in the end, all this doesn't matter.
"The Dark Knight Rises" will come out and do things to our cerebellum that we'll never tell our children. Let's be patient.
And not forget about "The Amazing Spider-man".

Yeah, back after like, a year and some months.

Not sure if I am back back, but I am definitely here right now… at this time… of 3:55 pm Central.
But anywho, had to just see what was happening with my old RandomFriends. I’m happy we’re still watching RandomGuy do his thing and one day, one day, I will see him at a C2E2. One freaking day! To you new-ish fans, hey, I’m GreenFan, haven’t been here awhile but my profile pic was kinda famous. (Gah, I’m majorly gloating!)
See that’s what happens when all you’ve done so far is work, work, work. My recreation has just been in watching “Doctor Who” and waaaaay too many other TV shows, and trying to finish Uncharted 2 before the third one comes out. OH how I want a life! Will anyone give it to me??
A life, that is!

"Iron Man 2" was okay...

...is a lie. The movie was so nicely awesome. Expectations were met. Saw it at IMAX. Helped my friends (who didn't buy tickets online, so when we showed up to the theater, it was sold out...) Anyway, I helped them sneak in, and this only added to the movie going experience.
I can't really say if I think it was better than the first. I'm not sure, though I feel I liked this one more. War Machine was nice, real nice! But I def'ly want to see it again. (Not-so-RandomShoutOut to Robert Downey Jr!)

This is not a review. I was just wondering if anyone else saw “2012”. If they did, did they like it? If not, was it because they found no interest in another world destruction movie? Just being nosy, and confirming I’m not dead, ‘cause sometimes one must do that, you know?
Besides all those questions, I liked the movie. Gave me what I wanted to see: the earth collapse into itself. I was satisfied. But we all know the real question here? Who isn’t excited to see "Twilight"? I’m on Team Jacob. Who else? Join with me!

How have u been lately? Taking care of things on this end? School is a trip, as is to be expected, and the crime fighting world is full of wannabe villains taking up my time. Are you ready for zero hour?
