Thanks to two lightning-fast production schedules, we are once again treated to an X-centric YouTube video with plenty of laugh-out-louds. Just over two years since the release of X-Men Origins: Wolverine in May 2009, 20th Century Fox put out their fifth X-Men film today, and just over a week since the posting of their Mutants of the Caribbean Parody, ItsJustSomeRandomGuy and Gal have made their timely response! Check out the video below!

Call me a sucker for running jokes, but I absolutely loved this video for that very reason. While Magneto and Xavier took stage left for their debuts in the "Hi, I'm a Marvel...and I'm a DC" series, there was a certain hint of familiarity in their appearances--especially Magneto's. The reappearance of the metal locker that once smashed Peter Parker/Harry Potter, the repeated smashing of a foe, and his declaration as an "evolutionary superior, the savior of mutantkind, the Master of Magnetism"... It was definitely the Magneto that we've gotten to know and love in the RandomVerse. As for Xavier's appearance, we need not say much more than that Alec Guinness would have made a great Professor X.

Finally, in probably the best call-back joke of the year, Mystique's very first appearance was a short, but oh-so-sweet one. The joke was so perfect--the long-recorded fact that Ryan Reynolds plays both Deadpool and Hal Jordan comes deliciously full circle in a summer where Mystique and Hal Jordan are both in the movies--the priceless concept that yes, there really are two naked, blue, superhuman characters from comic book movies--the delivery... Man! It's no wonder the Randoms have been desperately searching for a Mystique action figure all this time!

Other things to note and enjoy about this video: the *incredible* fist that Green Lantern constructs with his power ring... Hal Jordan's been quite a trooper, representing DC all by his lonesome, courageously fighting an onslaught of Marvels, and doing a fairly good job at it... Whenever you can reuse a Gregory Peck/Family Guy quote in a completely fresh and different way, you know you're a comedic genius...
